What is SaskWorks Venture Fund?

SaskWorks Venture Fund is a mutual fund. It is available only in Saskatchewan. Like any mutual fund, individual investors purchase shares in a professionally-managed pool of assets. Unlike mutual funds, there is a 35% tax credit in addition to the RRSP tax deferral.

The Fund is divided into two share classes: Diversified (Class A) and Resources (Class A-R). Investors can choose to place 100% of their investment into either class, or divide their investment by whatever allocation they wish.

SaskWorks Venture Fund uses its assets to invest in small and mid-sized Saskatchewan companies. Since its inception, the Fund has provided a unique opportunity for individual Saskatchewan residents to invest locally, keeping their investment dollars "at home," building companies and jobs in Saskatchewan.

SaskWorks Ventures Fund Inc. is a registered labour-sponsored investment fund. The offering is made by prospectus, in Saskatchewan only, for provincial residents. An investment in the Fund is subject to substantial risk; share values and returns will fluctuate. Redemptions are dependent on net income and retained earnings, and may be restricted in certain circumstances. If redeemed prior to the eighth anniversary of purchase, you may be subject to an early redemption fee, and to repayment of tax credits. Commissions, trailing commissions, management fees and expenses all may be associated with mutual fund investments. Mutual funds are not guaranteed, their values change frequently, and past performance may not be repeated. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing.
